Accounting Manager – Special Projects

Location: Maui, Hawaii
Reports to: Controller – Special Projects
Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Department: Accounting
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000; full benefits package

What You Will Do

Deliver Financial Accuracy & Insight

• Oversee day-to-day and month-end close activities across multiple entities (fixed assets, accruals, reconciliations).
• Lead preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial reports.
• Develop and maintain formal budget structures and financial forecasts.

Drive Operational Excellence

• Monitor cash flow, optimize collections, and ensure accurate billing for development and construction projects.
• Lead system transitions from QuickBooks to NetSuite or Intacct; establish best practices for new platforms.
• Identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and scalability.

Build and Lead Teams

• Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Standardize processes across entities and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Partner with leadership to provide actionable financial insights.

What You Bring

• Required :
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business.
• 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience (minimum 6 years).
• Strong financial reporting background, with direct accountability for financial statements.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite or Intacct preferred; strong QuickBooks acceptable).
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred :
• CPA or CMA license.
• Experience in construction or project-based industries.
• Public accounting background (multi-entity exposure).
• Demonstrated adaptability in managing system changeovers.

Requirements (Conditions of Employment)

Employment at Alpha Inc. is contingent upon the following:

• Completion of standard pre-employment screening.

• Passing a drug test (for both full-time and part-time hires), conducted under Hawai'i's statutory requirements.
