Job Description: Catering Sales / Event Specialist
Hours are Monday -- Friday 9-5 as well as occasional evenings and weekends, and walk throughs and on site for events for short shift as needed.
We are excited to add a seasoned Catering Sales expert to our sales team.
You are a smart and responsive self-starter who is intuitive and detail oriented. You work with others in a thoughtful and considerate manner while utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills. You are organized, resourceful and thoughtful in all that you do. You are curious, flexible and collaborative. No two days will be the same. Our company is in a high growth mode and you will be the face of the company to your clients.
Essential duties
Creating catering proposals and contracts, fielding calls and inquiries, planning staff, menu, rentals and outside rentals
Participate in and prepare information for weekly meetings with other departments as well as sales team
On site for venue visits, walk throughs and short shift at special events for 4 hours to get the party started.
Communicate event specific information to appropriate vendors and internal partners
Create event packets including timelines, floorplans, supplier info, service directions and event notes to assure a successful event
Field and qualify leads
Create and follow up on all proposals in a timely manner
Great communicator with all departments within the company as well as clients and partners
Proper communication with staffing department for event needs
Respond to RFP's as needed
2-3 years catering/food and bev sales
Experience with catering software programs
Advanced skills in GMail Google docs
Ability to thrive and multitask in fast paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to manage assignments and deadlines with minimal supervision
Highly organized with attention to detail
Desirable qualifications
