Position Title: CNC Operator
Wage: $20.00 per hour
Shift: 3rd
Hours: 3:15pm-2:00am (Mon-Fri)
QPS is hiring for a leading hydraulic manufacturer in Hampton, Iowa, known for delivering custom-engineered cylinders to top global equipment makers since 1976. With in-house chrome plating, steel casting, and the ability to build cylinders up to 30” in diameter and 420” in length. They are looking for a couple of dedicated workers to fill their general labor openings. CNC Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, and manuals for specifications.
- Measure and mark the dimensions on materials.
- Select, align, and secure materials on the machines (mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers).
- Calculate and set controls to regular machining factors (speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle).
- Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or adjust controls as needed.
- Inspect parts before and after machining.
- Stamp parts produced and maintain documentation for tracing ability.
- Operate electric hoist and forklift to assist with moving materials (after company training).
- Operate CNC or HMC machines as assigned.
- Maintain all tooling, inserts, oils, and coolants.
- Cleaning equipment including disposal of chips and shaving produced during the machining process.
- Properly label secondary containers of cutting fluids, solvents, etc.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
CNC Operator Requirements: - Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
- Ability to bend, twist, or kneel throughout an 8–10-hour shift.
- Ability to communicate with team members by reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Preform physical labor for extended periods of time.
-Candidates *MUST HAVE* a proven track record of several years of solid work history. Please include details of your work experience on your resume.
- Utilize basic math skills and properly read a tape measure.
- Prior Experience in Manufacturing.
- At least 2 years of previous CNC experience.
