The Shelly Company is known throughout the industry for innovation, quality and for our commitment to safety./ppPosition Overview/ppAlthough NO CDL is required to operate this vehicle, the truck you will drive has the capacity of approximately 35 (or more) tons, which you will use to transport materials. You may also operate heavy equipment, including a crusher, under the direction of a supervisor./ph3Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)/h3ulliAbility to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly./liliAbility to maintain and safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including Haul Truck, Water Truck, Dump Truck, Dredge, Track Hoe, Frontend Loader, and Skid Steer Loader./liliAbility to understand and follow directions./liliAbility to weld and fabricate as needed./liliAssist with miscellaneous duties include but not limited to; general labor, shoveling, performing necessary equipment maintenance, assisting foreperson and/or crew members as needed as requested by the Plant Manager/Superintendent/Foreperson./liliAssist with equipment maintenance as needed./liliContinually drive the truck within the confines of the facility./liliMaintain awareness of OSHA (Occupational Safety Health Administration) and/or MSHA (Mining Safety Health Administration) regulations./liliPerform a pre-trip inspection of vehicle condition daily and inform foreperson of any problems before beginning work./liliWork as a team member with other employees within the facility to ensure a smooth and safe operation./liliYou may be required to ensure that the crusher is fed consistently while maintaining all safety regulations (at quarry locations)./li/ulpOther Requirements/pulliDisplay a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times./liliMust be willing to travel and work away from home when required./liliMust be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary./liliReport to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time./liliStrict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures./liliStrict adherence to Shelly Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies./liliWillingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required./liliTimely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Shelly Company employees. Employees will be held accountable for adhering to their workplace schedule./li/ulpQualifications/ppTo execute this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and Experience/ppLess than or equal to a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Heavy Equipment experience, including Crushing Operation helpful./ppPersonal Protective Equipment/ppIndividuals are required to wear personal protective equipment in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position: Welding Gloves, Hard Hat, Hearing Protection, Padlocks for Lockout/Tagout, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, use of Seatbelt and harnesses when required./ppLanguage Skills/ppAbility to communicate sufficiently to convey and exchange ideas and give and receive detailed verbal instructions./ppReasoning Ability/ppAbility to apply commonsense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional variables./ppPhysical Requirements/ppThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, climb, or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee must regularly lift and/or move around 25 pounds and may also have to move over 50 pounds with equipment assistance./ppWork Environment/ppWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold. The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.
