Carstensen Contracting Inc. has an open position for a Heavy Haul Truck Driver. Our company driver’s primary focus is to transport/deliver heavy excavation equipment safely and effectively to our various jobsites throughout the Midwest. The ideal candidate would have experience with oversize/over-dimensional heavy haul trucking.

Additional duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Delivering construction equipment to and from jobsites.
• Works with the Trucking Superintendent to ensure proper permitting is secured.
• Maintain current truck logs per FMCSA regulations.
• Completed pre-and post-trip inspections thoroughly and reports immediate concerns to the Trucking Superintendent.
• Securely loads equipment, machinery, and parts. Then safely transports to the destination. Finally unloads properly to prevent injury and/or damage.
• Comply with all Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations as well as company safety policies.
• Various yard duties.  

Requirements:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
• Valid Health Card.
• Experience transporting heavy construction equipment.
• Knowledge and ability to safely load, secure, and unload cargo using proper safety techniques.
• Knowledge and ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Knowledge and ability to fill out logbooks and company documentation in compliance with all regulatory and company requirements.
• Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents
• Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening.
