Job Description

LOCUM Corrections Dentist *129409: South, California

Schedule: 4/10's or 5/8's (Monday-Friday, no weekends)
Start: ASAP
Length of Assignment: 3 months with potential for longer
Staffing Mix: 1 dental assistant
Approximate PPD: 10 - 15
Capacity: 643 detainees
Certification requirements: Requires DDS degree or DMD degree and valid license to practice dentistry with DEA controlled substance registration certificate in the state of California, and current CPR certification.
Types of visits:
- Emergency dental treatment shall be provided for immediate relief of pain, trauma, and acute oral infection.
- Routine dental treatment may be provided to detainees in ICE custody for whom dental treatment is inaccessible for prolonged periods because of detention for over six months, including amalgam and composite restorations, prophylaxis, root canals, extractions, x-rays, the repair and adjustment of prosthetic appliances and other procedures required to maintain the detainee's health.
