Job Description: GDIT is seeking a
Marine Electrician to help support the
SACSS program in Chula Vista, California.
This is an onsite position, and no relocation assistance is provided. Must be a US Citizen Job Description: \n - Installs, maintains, repairs, overhauls, troubleshoots, modifies, constructs, and tests mechanical equipment and related devices
\n - Troubleshoots and corrects structural placement
\n - Makes recommendations for improvements or modifications to correct problems
\n - May provide operation and maintenance instruction to customer personnel
\n - Performs preventative maintenance
\n - Participates in special projects, as required
\n - Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, cables, equipment, and appliances.
\n - Uses hand tools and testing equipment
\n - Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits
\n - Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using general and specialized testing equipment
\n - Replaces faulty switches, sockets, and other elements of electrical systems
\n - Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes, and armatures
\n - Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications
\n - Works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
\n - Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
\n - Participates in special projects as required

Requirements: \n - US Citizen
\n - Associates Degree or equivalent years of related experience
\n - Shipboard electrician 1+ years of experience
\n

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $29.84 - $40.38. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
