Job Description
We are looking for a part-time Experienced ESL/ Civics Teacher who is a Committed , experienced, and reliable individual. The teacher should have at least 2 years of experience in teaching adults and should have zoom classroom management skills as well as in-person classroom management techniques. We are looking for a quick learner, multitasker, and energetic teacher who has an interest in working with refugees and immigrants and the ability to handle a class of an average of 35--40 adult students via Zoom and/or in person.
The online classes are taught in the morning from 10 am to 12:30 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays
and the in-person class is taught in Astoria, NY from10 am to 1:30 pm on Mondays
Our students are adults who vary in age from 18 to 70 years old. They are from 121 different countries as refugees and immigrants and are very eager to learn English and become US Citizens. Our students are also very respectful and appreciative of their teachers.
The ideal candidate should have at least a Bachelor's Degree preferably in Education or TESOL, or a related field, and 2 years of ESL teaching experience..
