Description
Griffin Health is seeking a dedicated Pre-Admission Testing RN to join our team on a part-time basis (16 hours per week). The RN will assume responsibility and accountability for perioperative assessment and planning by conducting patient interviews, collecting clinical data, and collaborating with the healthcare team to determine perioperative readiness. This role ensures all testing and clearances are complete in advance, optimizing safety and patient outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform comprehensive pre-admission assessments through patient interviews and medical history review.
Evaluate lab results, diagnostic tests, and clearances, independently identifying and communicating abnormal findings to providers.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and other team members to confirm perioperative readiness.
Ensure all required documentation, testing, and clearances are complete prior to the procedure.
Provide patient and family education to support understanding of the surgical process and expectations.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE:
Current Connecticut RN license required.
BSN preferred.
BLS certification required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 10 years of nursing experience in a perioperative or procedural area preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong ability to assess patient medical history, labs, and tests independently and escalate appropriately.
