Summary Pure Energy is recruiting for a Residential Solar Project Designer. This Designer will be responsible for review of project design, technical specifications, utility and permit approvals and quality control. The candidate will work in collaboration with our Master of Record and Installation Supervisor along with other individuals as needed. This opportunity is an in-office position at our Headquarters in San Antonio, TX. Responsibilities: Review residential solar designs for electrical accuracy and code compliance Identify and correct issues (e.g., wire sizing, panel placement, overcurrent production) Ensure compliance with NEC, utility, and AHJ requirements Collaborate with designers to resolve discrepancies before permit submission Flag high-risk design elements or questionable field assumptions Maintain review logs, comments, and documentation in tracking systems Provide training and feedback to junior designers Stay current with code updates, utility rules, and solar tech changes Interpret site surveys and service data to support accurate design Assist project managers with asset commissioning Provide technical guidance during system installations Coordinate with utility providers and AHJs to address design feedback or kickbacks Assist in the preparation and finalization of as-built drawings to reflect completed installations All other duties and responsibilities as assigned Skills & Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in residential or commercial solar PV systems design Power distribution, power generation, and electrical engineering experience Strong familiarity with National Electric Code and other relevant design codes Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD Ability to build cross-organizational relationships, communication, and trust Demonstrated ability to implement detailed solutions to complex technical problems Physical ability to visit job sites and traverse uneven ground or climb a ladder Preferred Master's degree in Electrical Engineering TDLR Journeyman Electrical License NABCEP Certification Pay & Benefits Salary (DOE) Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance available PTO About Pure Pure Energy Inc. is a rapidly growing solar company headquartered in San Antonio, TX with offices in Dallas, Lubbock, Waco, Corpus Christi, McAllen, Colorado Springs (CO), and soon to be Houston.
