Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An immediate opportunity is available for a Teacher skilled in American Sign Language to support a middle school student. This contract position is based in Coal City, IL, with remote work options considered. The role supports a 7th grader on the caseload and offers a flexible, part-time schedule ideal for professionals seeking meaningful short-term engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering American Sign Language instruction tailored to the individual needs of the student.
• Collaborating with educational staff to monitor progress and adjust teaching strategies.
• Providing both in-person and virtual support based on scheduling needs.

Qualifications and experience desired:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language instruction, preferably in an educational setting.
• Experience working with middle school-aged students.
• Ability to adapt to evolving schedules and instructional delivery methods, including virtual formats.
• Commitment to supporting a students academic and communicative development.

Position specifics:

• Schedule: Approximately 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM CST, Monday through Friday, totaling 20-25 hours per week. Schedule hours flexible if remote.
• Pay range: $35-$40/hr
• Contract duration: Immediate start with services continuing through June 1st, followed by extended school year support for an additional three weeks with a modified schedule.
• Work location: Based in Coal City, IL, with potential virtual flexibility.
