We are seeking a skilled Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on designing and supporting commercial solar projects, including ground-mount, rooftop, carport, and canopy installations, as well as integrated BESS solutions. The ideal candidate has strong technical design experience, thrives in a collaborative environment, and brings a proactive mindset to problem-solving and project execution. Job Summary Key Responsibilities Design & Layout: Produce accurate and site-specific electrical and structural designs, including single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and equipment layouts for PV and BESS projects. Engineering & Analysis: Perform system sizing, energy yield analysis, and equipment selection based on site conditions and project requirements. Software Proficiency: Utilize AutoCAD and other industry-standard design tools (e.g., Helioscope, PVsyst) to create professional design packages. Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to NEC, local building codes, and utility interconnection requirements. Project Management: Oversee 3rd-party engineering deliverables from conceptual through IFC, reviewing and resubmitting designs as needed to ensure 100% completion. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and installers to deliver accurate designs and support project execution. Commissioning Support: Provide technical assistance to the electrical team during commissioning and troubleshooting when needed. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. NABCEP PV Designer or other relevant certifications are a plus. Experience: Proven experience in commercial PV system design and BESS integration, with familiarity across multiple system types (grid-tied, off-grid, hybrid). Technical Skills: Proficiency with AutoCAD and design review processes. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power electronics, and energy storage technologies. Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to final design.
