Structural Welder/Ironworker

Pay Rate: $20 /hr + DOE
Experience: 3+ Years
Shift: Monday through Friday; Business Hours

 

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications to determine the appropriate welding process.

• Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including welding machines, cutting torches, grinders, and rigging gear.

• Ensure all welds meet quality standards and are free from defects.

• Perform rigging and hoisting of steel members using cranes and other lifting equipment.

• Inspect and maintain welding equipment to ensure proper function and safety.

• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the job site.

• Collaborate with other team members, including engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople, to ensure project success.

 

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Structural Welder, Ironworker, or in a similar role.

• Current certification from a recognized welding institution is highly preferred.

• Proficiency in various welding processes, particularly Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW or "stick welding") and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).

• Strong knowledge of structural steel construction and the ability to interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

• Physical stamina and the ability to work at heights, in various weather conditions, and lift heavy materials.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, including OSHA standards.

• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
