\n\nPatient Care Responsibilities\n

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department observation unit with a patient ratio of 1:4.

  • Emergency Department and/or ER Holding experience required

  • Experience in Medical- Surgical/Telemetry, Telemetry, PCU/Stepdown acceptable
  • \n
\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n

  • Teaching Hospital or Community Hospital experience preferred
  • \n
  • Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) experience preferred
  • \n
  • Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
  • \n
  • Travel experience not required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • \n
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)

\n\nWork Environment\n

The Emergency Department Observation Unit has a daily census of 32 patients, with a total of 32 beds available. The unit provides support from an interdisciplinary team including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams.

\n\nOrientation and Training\n

Hours of Orientation: 36 hours provided for onboarding and training.

\n\nPatient Demographics\n

The unit serves a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics.

\n\nSpecial Procedures/Unit Details\n

Experience in ED and/or ED Holding/Observation is required for this position. There will be no requested time off from February 15, 2026, through February 28, 2026.
