American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU (PICU) night shift position requiring a WA or compact RN license, BLS, and PALS certification.

\n \n Responsibilities\n
  • Work in a Pediatric ICU within an 82-bed Level 2 Trauma Center featuring 16 beds that are interchangeable between MedSurg and PICU
  • Patient population includes respiratory, medical, chronically ill, oncology, trauma, and surgical pediatric cases
  • Use of Epic EMR, experience preferred
  • Assignment is 12-hour night shifts with 36 hours per week
  • Floating may occur to MedSurg, NICU (low acuity), or as helping hands in the ED
  • On-call only if experiencing low census, with a 1-hour response time
  • Required to work 1-2 holidays during the assignment
  • Care for pediatric patients with a variety of complex medical and surgical needs, including trauma, oncology, and respiratory cases
  • No solid organ transplant, major burns, or stem cell transplant cases included in assignment
  • ECMO management handled by ECMO specialists
  • Team environment with opportunities to float to other units as needed
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Scrub attire can be any color except hooded shirts; long sleeves must be able to be pulled above the elbow; Friday is spirit day during football season with appropriate team attire allowed

  • Active WA or compact RN license required for consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years recent PICU experience required
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Ability to pass Traveler Telemetry Competency
  • Strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and time management skills required
  • Proficiency with aseptic and sterile techniques, ventilator and trach management, suctioning, tube management, chest tubes, epidurals, PCAs, drip and Foley management, discharge procedures
  • CRRT experience with Prismax is preferred
  • Epic EMR experience is preferred
