Laundry And Housekeeping

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, free from offensive odors.

Essential duties include:

• Making available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents.
• Maintaining all linen in good repair and removing from service any linen with holes and/or stains.
• Collecting laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Labeling new resident's clothing items as needed.
• Sorting, treating, washing, drying, and folding clothing and linens.
• Delivering clean laundry items to resident rooms.
• Following all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties.
• Maintaining inventory of laundry supplies.
• Using all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner.
• Reporting laundry equipment issues to the administrator.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

Education and/or experience:

GED or high school diploma.

1 year of experience preferred.

Language skills:

Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures.

Mathematical skills:

Basic math skills.

Reasoning ability:

Ability to problem solve and seek assistance when needed.

Certificates, licenses, registrations:

No certifications required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; walk and talk, read or hear. Frequent use of industrial washers and dryers and related laundry/housekeeping equipment.
