Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitized and organized facility by completing a variety of maintenance tasks including but not limited to, mopping, dusting, cleaning toilets and vacuuming, supply restocking, and trash removal.

Shifts:

Monday - Friday

4:00pm-9:00pm

5:00pm-9:00pm

Sat & Sunday

11am-3pm (this will be discussed in the interview)

Responsibilities

• Ensures Y is attractive, clean, and safe by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintain upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dry mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, and cleaning and disinfecting of sinks and toilets, classroom surfaces. Other seasonal activities dealing with general cleaning/housekeeping may be added within the required weekly hours.
• Replaces soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other supplies at assigned buildings as needed, and advises supervisor when supply inventory is running low.
• Ensures all cleaners are secured.
• Records and reports all needed repairs.
• Ensures windows and doors are properly secured and/or locked as needed.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor and completed incident reports and/or maintenance requests promptly if issues arise.
• Operates a camp-assigned vehicle (golf cart or housekeeping van) safely on camp property at a restricted speed to transport housekeeping supplies and staff between work sites.
• May set up furniture for events.
• Plus any other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Six months or more of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Maintains a driver's license and accident-free driving record in home country/state.

Posted Salary Range

USD $15.49 - USD $16.00 /Hr.
