Actalent Scientific is looking for a Lab Assistant for a leading Diagnostics company, based in Agoura Hills. This is a fulltime, long-term position with opportunity for growth. Entry level position- great way to gain lab experience. Pay will range from $19-21/hr based on shift. This is a non degreed position, candidates with a bachelor's degree do not qualify for this role. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play an essential role in clinical lab science within a high-volume, production-based environment. This position is pivotal in ensuring timely and accurate specimen processing, contributing directly to patient care. Please apply for more detail! Responsibilities + Receive and sort clinical lab specimens. + Prepare specimens for testing and analysis. + Perform data entry of specimen and patient information. + Ensure lab equipment is functioning properly and perform minor maintenance. + Troubleshoot specimen-related issues. + Replenish test bench supplies as needed. + Maintain a clean and safe work environment. + Complete record logs and other administrative duties. + Follow all standard operating procedures to ensure safety and quality standards. Essential Skills + High school diploma or equivalent. + Comfortable handling biological specimens. + Ability to accurately identify specimens. + Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills. + Attention to detail with prioritization and multitasking abilities. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods. + Must pass a standardized color blindness test. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous medical/lab or production experience preferred. + Familiarity with clinical laboratory operations. + Experience with specimen processing, accessioning, and sample handling. + Knowledge of quality assurance documentation and compliance standards (CLIA, CAP). + Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
