The Float Phlebotomist position involves performing blood collections and specimen preparations across multiple locations, providing varied patient interactions and clerical support. This role requires phlebotomy certification, a valid driver’s license, and strong communication skills, with opportunities for professional growth and incentives for performance. PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm with travel
Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
Coverage Area : Knoxville, Sweetwater- On Mondays, Claiborne
Job Responsibilities:
Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Process billing information and collect payments when required
Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
Maintain patient and specimen information logs
Provide superior customer service to all patients
Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Travel to additional sites when needed
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency or previous experience as a phlebotomist is required
Must have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
Must be at least 21 years’ old
Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
