Job Duties The successful candidate will work on innovative technologies as an integral member of the Information Management and Platform Technologies Development team within Halliburton’s Landmark Software & Services Product Service Line. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on the latest software technologies in the industry, apply their innovative ideas and create the next generation software products. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Develop and maintain backend services using Java and J2EE technologies Assist in building RESTful APIs and microservices using frameworks like Quarkus or Spring Boot Write SQL queries and support database operations across Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL platforms Participate in containerization workflows using Docker and Kubernetes Support build and deployment pipelines using Maven and Git-based CI/CD tools Collaborate with senior developers and cross-functional teams to deliver features Troubleshoot and debug application and performance issues Contribute to code reviews, testing, and documentation Qualifications & Experience Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science required 2-4 years of hands-on experience in Java development Familiarity with J2EE components like Servlets, JSP, and JMS Basic understanding of microservices architecture and frameworks like Quarkus or Spring Boot Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with relational databases Exposure to Linux/Windows environments and shell scripting Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm (academic or project-based is acceptable) Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Willingness to learn, take initiative, and collaborate with senior team members Desired Skills and Qualifications: Exposure to Apache Kafka or other messaging systems Interest in Oil & Gas Upstream workflows, including drilling and subsurface domains Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies Interest or foundational exposure to Machine Learning, Generative AI, and Agentic AI technologies Characteristics: Proven technical abilities; strong communication, analytical and decision-making skills; 2+ years of experience.
